Today’s #WCW is Sonya Young Aadam, the CEO of California Black Women’s Health Project. CABWHP is the only statewide, non-profit organization that is solely committed to improving the health of California's 1.2 million Black women and girls through advocacy, education, outreach and policy. Sonya previously worked as a high powered financial analyst at top corporations, and selflessly moved on to support transformative intervention in underserved urban communities--particularly in South Los Angeles, where she was born and raised. The work she does at CABWHP empowers and advocates for black women's health, and offers services in mental health, domestic violence, reproductive justice, aging, and more. Thanks to the voice of Sonya and the work of CABWHP, black women and girls will be harder to overlook in their pursuit of quality health and wellness.
