Wow. My album Shatter Me came out 4 years ago today and what a journey it has been. This album was the story of the ballerina realizing that the glass sphere she lived in was not a shield, it was a cage. She realized her perfect porcelain skin was actually a mask covering her true self. This was a metaphor for me learning to see my anorexia for what it really was; it was not helping me, it was not making me feel better about myself, it was actually slowly destroying me. I fell into it cus I wanted control yet it started controlling me. No matter what walls have been built around you, realizing that they are there gives you the chance to break free.
