Swipe to meet Honey!? She’s a 10(ish) year old puppy faced beauty I’m currently fostering through @susiesseniordogs and @fosterdogs?
I’ve been following @susiesseniordogs for years and the stories of abandoned and neglected dogs always broke my heart. I knew I was interested in fostering, but was also nervous and unsure how to get started. What if I couldn’t help a new dog adjust? What if we couldn’t find them a forever home?! (Thankfully there’s a couple of really great applicants for Honey already! To apply, please email famous@fosterdogsnyc.com for more info☺️). However, as soon as we met Honey and her tail started wagging my doubts melted away. She’s seriously the most chill adorable thing ever and I know she’s going to be an amazing addition to someone’s family.
For anyone who has ever considered fostering I can definitely say it’s a really rewarding experience, and not as scary or commitment heavy as you might think. Just be sure to do some research, be realistic, and ask the right questions - shelters are happy to work with you to match you with a pup (or cat?) that best suits your experience level and lifestyle. And of course if you can’t open your home, donations ALWAYS help.
