That’s me in the middle -purple (made by mom )halter top with my name embroidered on it .
I remember that house we lived in - i remember how good it felt in that simple modest house. It was filled with love.
My brother joked recently that perhaps i should wait til my kids grow up and to see how they turn out before i teach about parenting .
His comment hit me and gave me clarity right in that moment :: MOTHER is not a parenting course . MOTHER isn’t going to give you tips to get your kids to do the things you want . MOTHER is not about changing your kids or changing yourself .
MOTHER is about connection : it’s about connecting to yourself so that you can move through your feelings and not act out of old stuff. MOTHER is about compassion and empathy for yourself your kids your partner your mother your siblings your kids teacher the other parents you know .
MOTHER is making room for authentic relationships with our children and the other loves in our lives. MOTHER is like a wake up call to a life that is yours filled with intimacy with the people in it .
I am a mother and there is no one on earth that stretches / me like my children . I’m humbled daily : and i am deeply grateful for the tools that my MOTHER partner @nallie22 Has given me .
