PART 2 -She replied, “I am, with all my heart.” At that point they made the decision to try to keep their family together. I then closed by saying to them both, “if this ever happens again you must move on with your life without him because,no man that’s worth having, would ever cause you to question your self worth, claim your dignity, or bring shame on you.” She agreed. I then looked at the man and said, “ we are all human. We have all sinned. We have all fallen short of the glory of God but we separate ourselves from the animals because we know better and when we know better we are obligated to do better.” At this point he asked us if we would pray with them because the Church had turned it’s back on him. Julie and I prayed with this couple in the middle of the restaurant. As we closed, I told him that as a Christian it is our job to love the sinner and hate the sin and that his church had missed a great opportunity to show compassion, love, understanding, and forgiveness but that God had missed Nothing, which is why we are standing here in this moment.
The purpose of sharing this with you all is because God spoke to me at that very moment. He spoke through me. He showed compassion, forgiveness, and understanding. The church is for sinners and for those who have been saved to set an example of Christ like behavior. We have ALL sinned, we have all judged only to be judged by others.
I want you all to know, that with all my heart, I try everyday to be better than the day before. I try to set an example for my children, to love and honor my wife and my mother, and to be the very best friend that I can. Our family has been stolen from, had folks lie about us and to us, and had horrible things done to our family by those we trusted. We have faced illness, death, financial hardships, and struggles with our children but where we have never given up is on each other and our faith in God. I’m good to leave you with this.... if you choose to believe in God and he doesn’t exist, you haven’t lost anything. If he does, and you don’t believe, you’ve lost it ALL!
