today i went to the state capitol to protest #SB1204 which would expand the definition of pandering, effectively criminalizing harm reduction methods that sex worker outreach programs and the like use to help marginalized workers. this is another piece of the war on sex workers, which is a war on sexuality itself. i met with @swop_usa sacramento branch and listened to people who have utilized the very services #SB1204 would criminalize speak of their recovery and lives thanks to them. we should never outlaw helping people, or at the very least allow access to harm reduction resources. we also spoke about #FOSTA / #SESTA - and all we’re asking is that you listen and care. harmful legislation hurts everyone and sex workers are at the frontlines of these attacks. #SESTA doesn’t only affect sex workers either, it censors the internet and hinders free speech re: Section 230 of the communications decency act. i’ll be posting the link to the petition to repeal #SESTA in my story + check out survivorsagainstsesta.org ❣️☂️ (first photo is kristen diangelo from SWOP sacramento + second photo is @chiefinvegan)
