I grew up listening to Dj Red Alert and Dj Chuckchillout on 98.7 KissFm every weekend 9pm-12!!!! I got to hear the newest songs, coolest breakbeats and the newest slang!!! Red is as pure hip hop as it gets!!! He paved such a path for djs! He let me fill in for him in 1991 after Wbls fired me!!! Change my life!!! When I got a job at Hot97 (1993) Red brought DjEnuff to replace me as a fill in!!! He let Clark Kent play for 10min every week at union square when he was unknown!!! If Red didn’t like a record he would tell the label reps- “Get your joint to Kid Capri.. he’s up and coming and can help u” !!!! Zulu Nation!!! Red playing at Roxy, Union Square and Latin Quarter was my foundation for THE TUNNEL NIGHTCLUB!!! #HarlemLegend
