Reason #4 to avoid polystyrene: It can't really be recycled. Let's be honest, there's only a few specific types of recycling plants that accept polystyrene and those are usually super strict on what they allow. Mostly, the types of polystyrene they are looking for are the unused kind. The kind with no residue on it. Not your greasy taco plate. So when you think throwing polystyrene, aka Styrofoam, into the blue bin is a job well done, it's actually ending up in a dump or an incinerator. Do you really want to be breathing in that stuff when they burn it? But there is another way! Challenge yourself and your friends to find creative ways to avoid polystyrene and see what you come up with. #sneakystyrene is hiding everywhere and it's up to us to get it banned for good.
