When I first started working as a model FOURTEEN YEARS AGO, I had no idea what being a model even entailed – even though I knew that it was what I wanted to do and a part of who I was destined to become. It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment that I wanted to work in entertainment and fashion, but it is something I remember always having my heart set on. The fashion industry is fickle and fast-paced – Trends and faces change every season – though, I have always loved the creative process. For someone who is only 5’7″ (give or take an inch), shy and unique looking, becoming a true high-fashion model was no small feat. But, as fate would have it, I became one of the lucky ones. I was discovered by #StevenMeisel and given my first @Vogue cover for @VogueItalia in March 2004, and shortly there after my first campaign, @Prada FW2004, followed by hundreds of covers, editorials, and high-fashion campaigns, as well as walking for countless ready-to-wear and haute couture runway shows. . I will never forget my first day on set, showing up at the studio to work with the legendary #StevenMeisel @PatMcgrathreal @GuidoPalau and Brana Wolf where I posed alongside @lisa_cant. Following in the footsteps of models like @MissKarenElson @EliseCrombez @msalekwek @karolinakurkova @gem.gems @tiiuislegit @JessicaStamofficial and @Raquel_Zimmermann was SO intimidating. These were the beautiful women who I looked up to and admired as I poured through my monthly fashion magazines - These women were the greats of my time, working for the most exclusive campaigns for the greatest fashion houses with the best photographers in the world and then suddenly, I was among them. My cover for Vogue Italia, April 2004, is the very moment when my life changed forever - The moment my dreams started coming true and I became a model. And yet, it is still only just the beginning for me…
