International Day of Sport for Development and Peace
We believe that everybody has the right of access to, and participation in, sport and play.
Today we celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
This is a day of great significance for us at the Kirsty Coventry Academy as we prepare to launch our HEROES Program in Dzivarasekwa, making this the third location in which we offer our free sports Programme to under-served and under-privileged children in high density areas.
Sport is a powerful tool that establishes social ties and networks, and promotes ideals of peace, tolerance, non-violence, solidarity and integrity. We hope our HEROES Programme continues attracting and inspiring as we work towards using sport as a universal language to bring people together across boundaries, cultures and religions. #HEROES #ouryouth #communityengagement #actandinspire
