"Potty-training has got to be one of the most frustrating milestones for both parent and child (esp for boys), yet, just moments removed I can already look at this photo with so much tenderhearted sentiment and emotion! I’m starting to feel the pressure of “your child is still wearing diapers?!”, while also not caring one bit about what others think. When you go through life’s everyday mundanities focused on the once-in-a-lifetime gifts and experiences wrapped up within, you cherish every detail so much more. What if this is the last child I’ll ever potty-train? What if some of these firsts with Valor are also my lasts? I know I talk to him and treat him much younger than he actually is, but in my eyes he’s just my little miracle babe that runs around filling my house with joy and hope that is ever-so needed in our family! This BOY! We’re several weeks into this process of sitting on the potty forEVER (he never goes), then he gets up and pees on the floor while looking in the bowl to see if there’s any “pee pee in duh toyette”.... he just doesn’t seem to understand how to control it yet lol which I find adorable and annoying all at once ? We switched to underwear and immediately went back to pull-ups because it yielded the same results.... only it was wayyyy more mess for me to clean up! I think one of these days it will just click like it did for Ezekiel, but in the meantime I’m just learning to enjoy the process and savor this season I have with my sweet Bubs who will one day be grown and gone." - @thehouseofgirl | rg
