After stopping for tea and dried fruit we got a call on the radio that a mom cheetah and her 4 cubs were 10k away. We couldn’t believe our luck and raced over. The mom, according to the Ranger, was thin. She had done an amazing job keeping her 4 cubs fed and alive. The 2 boy cubs looked much healthier than the 2 girl cubs. I was told it’s because she feeds the boys first because they are the priority. It made me sad. With all the discussion about how undervalued women are in our country it had some extra potency for me. The mom has to find more food for the boy cubs and will starve to death before she lets her cubs go without. #cheetah #survival SWIPE
