Kim's visit to the Chinese capital for a summit with President Xi Jinping marked his first known trip outside the country since he took power and his first known meeting with another head-of-state. Confirmation of the trip came days after the armored green train was spotted in Beijing, which along with unusually heavy security, ignited comparisons to previous trips by North Korean leaders.
