We never stopped looking over our shoulders at Shivling, even 48 hours into a long complicated descent off of Meru in 2011. My idea of taking a big risk on Meru was setting my camera untethered on a rock outcropping, shimmed w stones for a tripod to take this picture. Not the greatest photo I’ve ever taken but certainly reminds me of a moment of clarity that only comes w a period of deranged deprivation.... As for finding clarity, cool to hear @merufilm inspired a song on @UNTIL THE RIBBON BREAKS’ latest album. As Brandon the writer of the song recently wrote to us...”Of all the songs, of all the words, Meru is the closest and most important to me.
