Repost By @jackiehillperry: I know it’s a common trait of young-biblically sound African American Christians to look down on the older generation of Saints that went before us (I’ve made this mistake myself). We start going to churches that teach the word a little calmer and we start thinking that that’s the ONLY way & the “solid” way but don’t be fooled. Many of the Preachers and Saints that have gone before us are just as biblical and as worthy of our honor as we give to the majority culture theologians that we enjoy quoting. They may not say the word ”atonement” too often, but they sure know that Jesus paid a debt that we owed.
