Bundle up! @rdegive photographed people walking — or trying to walk — along Broadway earlier today in Manhattan. Planes are grounded and trains are canceled as snow spreads from Washington to Boston. The rare spring #snowstorm is the 4th nor’easter of the month of March. At least a foot of snow is expected from the suburbs of Philadelphia to New York City to coastal Connecticut and Long Island. NYC’s public schools, like dozens of other school systems, are closed, but Broadway shows are going on (as shows must do). By 2 p.m. a little over 4 inches of snow had fallen in @centralparknyc, but forecasters are expecting 1 to 2 inches an hour to fall throughout the day. @nycmayor Bill de Blasio warned of “blizzard-like conditions” starting in late afternoon, and the @nws said that driving near Philadelphia would become “very difficult to impossible, including during the evening commute.” Swipe left to see more #snowy photos, by @nytmills in Washington and @heislerphoto in Brooklyn.
