In the early ’70s, @judy.chicago, pictured here, and Miriam Schapiro created Womanhouse, an innovative and radical exhibit featuring women artists. A new version, Women House, is on display at the National Museum of @womeninthearts in Washington through May 28. The installment highlights another generation of contemporary women artists who reflect, dissect and address the same issues as its predecessors, this time in a gallery setting, using photography, sculpture and video. @judy.chicago and #MiriamSchapiro, who died in 2015, are the only artists to be represented in the original Womanhouse and the current house. “I hope it kicks ass, shakes people up, and opens their eyes,” @judy.chicago told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ. “That it gives them new experiences and helps them understand more about the range of women’s experiences and their views.” @nataliamantini took this portrait of #JudyChicago in New York.
