Say hello to Ailie Banks (@ailiebanks)! She’s from Blue Mountains, Australia and curates and Instagram full of “Ultra-femme bad girl” illustrations. She’s a self-described mental health advocate and feminist. In fact, she says her inspiration comes from “women and their resilience.” Instagram has helped her showcase her work globally (featured recently on @gurlstalk), and has attracted a number of big names to start following her. Ailie says she called her mum, sister, and besties screaming when she saw that Lily Allen and Peyton List followed her.
She loves to illustrate women - particularly the “realities of womanhood.” Whether its being told to ‘smile’, be attractive to cis men, or to stop being ‘too emotional.’ Ailie lives with C-PTSD, and started a YouTube channel where she talks further about (youtube.com/megaailie). Her biggest passions are mental health advocacy, traveling, and her cat. And be sure to check out some of her favorite Instagram accounts: @lottealexis, @zekeslunchbox, @sophierosebrampton, @prue_stent, and @godzdntdie. ✨ #ShineTheory
