When I started making this beat, I was messing around with sounds from Reaktor Prism. I found the Baby Gamelan sound and played in a few chords, then started messing with Kinetic Metal, where I found this crazy sound called Black Cauldron. It fit better, so I replaced the Gamelan, then tweaked the sound a little to become more metallic and percussive. I then added some bass – which I tend to not over quantise so it retains that live, natural feel. I added some weird, heavily processed drums in the intro, then layered them with sounds from Drumlab in the second part of the track. Lastly, I recorded some vocals and used The Mouth to add a formant effect and harmony.”
