Thousands of students walked out of their schools today in a nationwide demonstration, 1 month after a gunman killed 17 people at a high school in Florida. The 17-minute #walkouts were meant to pressure Congress to approve gun control legislation after the massacre at #MarjoryStonemanDouglas High School. More marches are planned for March 24 and April 20, the anniversary of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. Today, Columbine students spent 30 seconds in silence: 17 for the dead in #Parkland and 13 for the dead on their own campus. @chetstrange took this photo of Leah Zundel there earlier today.
