Early week escapism. Surrounded Islands by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. In 1983, eleven of the islands in Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, were surrounded with 6.5 million square feet of floating pink woven polypropylene fabric covering the surface of the water and extending out from each island into the bay. This work of considered the various ways in which the people of Miami live between land and water.
