On royal carpets and expensive floors my dirty feet drag. bleeding as i slide them through the broken glass that has been strewn about from the angry winds of life’s choices... i stand alone... beaten, humiliated, incarcerated for the inhumane crime of brutal honesty, lack of commitment and ultimate unconditional love and kindness. I stand alone... on my laughable quest for the unconditional, a quiet embrace of acceptance, the warm feeling of achievement. I stand alone... able to suffer the consequences of my mistakes and the moral victory of never having to win yet knowing in the end that all losing did was teach me things that winning could not.
