Update: Feminism is equality for women and men. Not that I should have to explain this, but maybe I do - although we have come a long way, men are still afforded far more luxuries when it comes to doing what they want without societal consequence. Especially in the sex space, which is what I’ve chosen to focus my life on. By saying this, I’m not hating on men, I’m not saying women deserve better than men, I’m simply speaking the current truth. As someone who has been a sexworker for the past decade, I have seen this with my very own eyes time and time again. Women are so often berated for acting sexually, while men are almost always celebrated. This is what slut shaming is. This is what rape culture is. This is what sexism is. I won’t go into too far detail here in an Instagram comment, but ... living my life the way I choose to, despite what society deems is “appropriate” for a woman: that is what feminism is to me.
