I am overjoyed and completely humbled by all of the prayers and well wishes for Jill. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of prayer, good thoughts, special intentions, positive vibes, whatever you're into — I'll take it. Again, thank you. . She is doing so much better today. She was able to scratch her ear (with her foot) and apply almost normal pressure when walking. I will continue to limit her movement (climbing, jumping) for another day or two, giving it time to heal. . For those that missed what happened, see recap below (?TLDR): . Yesterday morning Jill jumped from the floor to my bed, like she always does. But my phone was on the edge and she landed on top of it and they both fell to the ground. She quickly ran to a corner. It was a loud noise when they fell, putting her into flight mode (also normal). But I noticed her limping. . I approached her and she was chattering her teeth, a warning to stay away. She took a few steps toward me, still clicking and I was able to pick her up. I fully expected her to bite me, which she did (remember, defense mechanism). Any animal (and some humans) hurt, in pain, or afraid will normally react this way. So I held her in my hands and let her bite me, without any reaction (you can see the bite mark on my wrist in the picture). She quickly realized she was safe and jumped into my neck to be held. I held her for a few minutes with her baby blanket. We both needed a moment of silence. . I checked her body, hands, and feet. Everything was still "in place." Nothing out of socket, no bleeding, all things still reactionary to touch. The bottom of her foot was a bit swollen and she whimpered when I touched too hard. . What I gave her: I'm a big fan of Rescue Remedy, an all natural stress relief liquid. I put a drop on my finger and put it to her mouth. I also used Traumeel, an Arnica gel for anti inflammatory pain relief. I applied that to the top and bottom of her foot. . In an hour she was walking on her foot again. But still not 100%. I held her and watched her closely for the rest of the day. Applying Traumeel multiple times that day/night. Along with plenty of rest and elevation. . TLDR: Yesterday we cuddled. A lot
