This is why I do what I do. To try to save kitties from going through this inhumane procedure in the hands of vet professionals who took an oath to heal animals and EASE their suffering.
Today I woke up to a few one star reviews on my Facebook page. I'm open to all kinds of advice to help end declawing so I don't have a problem with them.
I asked the woman,who is in the vetmed profession,why she felt I deserved a one-star review & what can I do to make things better.
She said, "One start for naming names can lead to cyber bullying. I agree that declawing is wrong. What I don't agree with is calling out certain practices and people. I consider that cyber bullying." Hmmm. So...This is probably referring to the post I did yesterday about a American Association of Feline Practitioners CAT FRIENDLY practice that declaws cats, it has all sorts of suggestive declawing info on their website & on the front of their fb page (nothing about the facts about declawing or the humane alternatives), this vet does around 1-3 declaws a day & even does 4 paw declaws. This vet is even in a newspaper story talking about declawing and you should read what she says about trimming a cat's nails. Story on my fb post. (Photo not related to this vet practice) So this whole cyber bullying victim game in the vetmed profession, when it comes to declawing, is pretty pitiful. True cyber bullying is terrible & wrong. The vetmed profession started putting out this victim game big time after the AVMA cancelled their Favorite Veterinarian contest because the only vet that didn't declaw cats was going to win.
Just this month in the NYSVMS magazine, their Pres. said, "We have many issues that impact veterinary medicine that we will need to address this year including telemedicine; cyberbullying; medical marijuana; And in this same issue they talk about how they are going to stop the anti-declawing bill in NY once again and the bs excuses as to why they vets should keep amputating cat's toe bone$.
