I can still vividly remember being 12 years old and seeing the title of this book for the first time...”I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS...”
I remember it because I instantly knew it was speaking to me. I remember it because after reading it I felt that #MayaAngelou had changed my life. She had taken hold of my spirit and she has never let go of it again.
Today is #worldbookday. It’s also March 1st, the beginning of #womenshistorymonth so it’s a beautiful excuse to share with you all one of my favorite books, written by the reflection of the best of us. Thank you Maya for being a mirror to all I wish to be.
