#MovementMondays Tiffany Haddish is an American actress/comedian born and raised in South Central. Around the age of 9, Haddish’s mother was in severe car accident that forced her to grow up and take care of her younger siblings. At 12 years old, she was in and out of the foster system before her grandmother was granted custody. In foster care, Haddish used comedy as a way to cope. Haddish got her start at a Laugh Factory comedy-camp program tailored to young performers from underprivileged backgrounds. Her first major TV role was OWN’s If Loving You is Wrong. Shortly after she became a regular on NBC’s The Carmichael Show, which recently aired its third and final season in August. In 2016, Haddish got her first major movie role as the co-star in the comedy film Keanu alongside Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. However, her breakout performance was in the highest grossing comedy film of the summer, Girls Trip, where she starred alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall. 2017 really seems to be her year! In August, Haddish released a comedy special titled Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood that premiered on Showtime. Recently, she became the first black female stand-up comic to host SNL in its 43 seasons. Her success will continue with her memoir The Last Black Unicorn that was recently released. This year, Haddish will be seen starring in in the comedy film Night School alongside Kevin Hart. She really is a magical beautiful unicorn!! ??
