Dear World, if you want to know about the Olympic spirit speak to @samaneh_beiramibaher. She has had an un-deserved amount of negativity come her way for her placing in the race. Largely from people or article writers who do not understand the challenges of sport and the struggles just to meet the qualification criteria . I cannot shake her hand due to cultural reasons but if I could I would give her a Polynesian hug. She doesn’t deserve any of the negativity. She loves and is extremely proud of her country and her culture and all the amazing people from Iran. When we were in Turkey racing to qualify it was her voice yelling at us to not quit but to keep fighting. She did it despite the possibility of getting in trouble. She has the true spirit of Iran and of an Olympian.
