“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about what matters most” Martin Luther King Jr. I pray for the youth who lost their lives in #Parkland, Florida recently. I will pray for them, their families and their loved ones. And I will continue to dedicate myself to doing the work and more. As I see these young people leading us to a better day by standing up, protesting, organizing, and strategizing against gun violence, I can’t help but think about those who I have lost to gun violence and how this has plagued so many of our cities for so long. I am deeply inspired by these young leaders. But it will take all of us mobilizing and coming together and using that collective power in the voting space that will help change these laws and our country. With this many of us organized, we can vote the right people in. I believe that the people united can never be defeated. In the meantime let’s keep doing the work for each other to prevent this from ever happening again. #IBelieve.
