. Dear Amossino, I wonder how many times you must have heard me say that each one of us is but the sum of his own experiences and knowledge. A few words are often sufficient to express concepts, values, important ideas, but then great effort is needed to transform those words into actions, into actual deeds, to convert dreams into reality! When I first knew you, a little over twenty years ago – a time which seems to have gone by as quick as lightning – lifting you to my chest, oh so very delicately for fear of harming you, I understood that my life had changed at that very instant and that the life of the newborn child I held in my arms was already more valuable than my own life. That was for me the beginning of the most delicate and complex profession to which a man can aspire, that of a father. You were an early speaker and soon we learned to understand each other. However, I was well aware that children close their ears to words, but watch with eyes wide open our example. Thus, I went into the water and the wind, overcoming with great effort my yearning to stay home with all of you. It has not been easy, but the results have well exceeded my most optimistic expectations. The academic career that you have chosen is without a doubt one of the most difficult ones, and on top of that you have completed your music studies. Each time I said goodbye to you I would say, “everybody to the barricades!” Do you remember? It meant: everyone to his battle station, that is, everyone at his work and let’s give it our best! You have obviously taken those recommendations seriously, as evidenced by the fact that today you will cross your first truly and exceedingly important academic finish line, and for one day I will have to call you Aerospace Engineer. On this very special occasion I wish to send you a tiny, tiny and very simple word, but one loaded with significance. A tiny word that I wish I could shout to you at the top of my voice from here, my battle station, if my voice could reach you, and that I am forced to wrap in a package, which is the product of our times and goes by the name of email. It is a tiny but universal word: B R A V O ! ! ! . @amosbocelli
