Last week I had the privilege of being invited to travel with a group of some of the most inspiring, thoughtful and huge hearted people to visit The Global Seed Vault all the way in Norway near the North Pole.
We learned about the work the Crop Trust is doing with partners around the world to help conserve as many of our plants as possible by looking after their seeds.
In just 80 years the US has lost 93% of fruit and vegetable varieties.
We need biodiversity for a resilient food system and there is a major lack of it throughout the globe.
We have already lost 90% of varietals for many of our crops...
I was inspired and in awe to learn that this global conservation effort is going on to ensure that our farmers and scientists have the ability to produce crops to withstand the effects of climate change.
