Photo of the Day: If you look closely you will see two fluffy heads emerging from the back of this Great Crested Grebe. Adult grebes carry their chicks on their backs before taking a deep dive into the water, leaving the chicks in a true “sink or swim” scenario. This coaching helps the young grebes to become superior swimmers and divers. With this intense water training, the young Grebes will be more than ready for the aquatic challenges of the 2020 games.
