I still can’t believe this just happened. I got to share some magical moments with this breathtaking creature, I adore so much. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ ✨
This is an experience many dream about when planning a visit to Thailand.

However, there’s a dark side to elephant tourism that many people just don’t seem to be aware of.
This industry thrives because foreign visitors all want to ride elephants or watch them do tricks, paying good money for the privilege.

But the fact is those wild elephants need to be tamed before they can be ridden. The training is brutal and is accomplished when the elephants are very young. Elephant mistreatment doesn’t stop after they’ve been tamed.
Many elephant camps continue to employ bull-hooks to control the animals. While they may not be stabbing them constantly like they did in training, it’s the fear of being stabbed that’s used to motivate them to work.
Elephants aren’t meant to be ridden. Simple as that.
Elephants never forget. It is your choice what kind of memory you’d like to be to them.
If you really love these beautiful animals, please avoid riding them but rather visit and support a sanctuary where Elephants have been rescued from places where’s they’re mistreated.
