How do you get a shape that’s shorter in the back and longer in the front?

By overdirecting the hair backwards, the hair in front has to travel far to get cut and the hair in the back doesn’t have to travel as far. Because of this, the front ends up longer and the back ends up shorter.

You can use a stationary guide if you want the angle to be dramatic. You can use a traveling guide if you want it to be less dramatic.
