This month we celebrate the contributions of black men and women in this country because for far too long our voices and accomplishments have been diminished. Black folks have made important contributions to the growth of America. It's also very important that we all know that America was and continues to be built by immigrants! Can you imagine being told you had to go to war to fight for America, yet you couldn't even eat at a restaurant in an American city? Can you imagine being considered 1/3 of a person? It all seems so backwards to me but that was the America that existed and in some cases still does! How can anyone be so cruel to believe that any human is less than equal to the next? We as black people have had to fight for decades the notion that we aren't good enough and that we can't do the same job that our white counterparts can do! Well, people it is time to stop being afraid of what you don't know. There are so many great people in this world that don't look like you. Open your hearts, and your minds, a good friend awaits you!!! #BHM #blackhistorymonth2018
