One year ago today Bayard was born to join the other 100 million + rats in labs across the world. He was never meant to be loved, yet he is so loving. But who would had taken the time out to know that in a lab? I know he would love to use his birthday message to help save all those who were in the same place he was only one year ago. You hear or see daily that adorable animal the needs a home, but how often is it a rat? Almost guarantee you've never seen that. Even though 99,940,000 more rats are used in labs then dogs. Bayard wags his tail. Bayard licks you with his pink tongue. Bayard falls asleep in your lap. What's the difference? His protection. Rats are not covered under the Animal Welfare Act. So pretty much any cosmetic company or drug company can use him without punishment or care. It's purely INSANE! I stand against animal testing. I stand with all the animals not getting a chance in labs. I stand with my baby boy, Bayard. The day I rescued Bayard and his siblings from the lab will forever be the hardest/best day of my life. I saw the reality of animal cruelty, but I gained the sweetest and most affectionate living thing I have ever been blessed to meet. He may be blind, but he opened my eyes and I couldn't be more thankful for him. With that, Happy Birthday Bayard. I can’t wait to spend the rest of your life with you.
