Hey guys happy Sunday! By now you probably know that every Sunday I donate my social media to my @YearsofLiving team to talk about carbon pricing! Please take a second to read these posts!!! This week’s post is very inspiring :) “On January 23rd, young people from across Massachusetts came together at the Statehouse to #putapriceonit through the power of art and community. This day featured 100 meetings with representatives, performances, speeches, and a collaborative 250-piece mosaic created by constituents across the Northeast in support of Massachusetts carbon pricing legislation. The MA Youth Lobby day was a celebration of the power of youth, and a hopeful push toward the future of climate policy. Over the past year, those who gathered have walked to class and work in record temperatures, seen the street come alive with ocean waves from record-high sea levels, and watched climate change sweep like an ocean tide across the New England cities and towns that we call home. What was warned about as a distant threat in years past is our generation’s reality, and at 20-years old, it’s hard to ignore the injustice of inheriting a global crisis and imagine my future if climate action is not taken. This is very much our fight, and the power is ours to make change. Today’s youth is the generation most impacted by climate change, and I believe that we are the generation with the resilience to create a solution. As I was lucky to experience last week, young leaders continue to rise up with incredible determination to demand climate action and are heard! The power of young people is strong, and when united we are unstoppable. Today’s youth will not fall into hopelessness or inaction; we will rise and we will be heard. That all begins with the individual! I encourage everyone reading this to embrace the new year as a time of change and make it a resolution to organize, visit your reps, and advocate for the future of ourselves and the planet. I’m so inspired by my generation, and last Tuesday was a ray of hopeful light for the future.”
