He wants an apology & retraction??? As many of you know,I wrote a long story about how the @avmavets published a Letter to the Editor from one of their long time vets in their prestigious JAVMA journal about a "painless" declaw procedure that he has been doing for the last 40 years to over 2000 cats & kittens. ? JAVMA edited this vet's Letter to the Editor & took out the fact that this he said his declaw procedure is painless & he hasn't been using ANY PAIN MEDS after he chops off part of the cat's P3 toe bone with a Rescoe Guillotine Clipper,creating an open fracture fragment &then burns the nail bed at the end of that fracture fragment using electrocautery. (Electrocautery uses heat conduction from a probe heated to a glowing temperature by a direct current (much in the manner of a soldering iron. Wikipedia) I asked this vet in an email yesterday if the AVMA asked him to take down his "Painless Cat Declawing" website. He wouldn't answer my question & sent me emails saying things like this, "You’re hopeless-if you have any conscience ( which I doubt, you should print a retraction to all the negative comments you made in the article about no way my method can be painless- And drop your frivolous petition against the JAVMA- because you’ll look very stupid to all veterinarians in the country if the petition is badmouthing Dr. Matushek (which I’m assuming the petition is about); because he’s making a perfectly valid statement, which I can agree with,deferring to the scientific method to conclude one way or another. Sorry, I can’t resist rubbing it in since you haven’t had the decency to apologize to me yet- but how does it feel to totally blow your “ but cats hide their pain well” retort out of the water; a reply you’ve erroneously been using for many years against people regarding declawing?
