It’s a week until I turn the big 3.0 Please excuse this long post ***GIVEAWAY AT THE BOTTOM*** When I was much younger I believed that at 30, I would have accomplished so much. A business, family, an academic career-that my family and the bank would actually approve of. My mind and emotional maturity would be complete and I wouldn’t be scared or unhinged by anything. An adult. With her empire. There is so much pressure that is put on us when we enter new decades. Whether it be into our 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and into our retirement age of 60+ It’s almost a time society has dictated that we need to stop and take stock of what’s happened in our lives and assess all that we haven’t accomplished. Being hard on ourselves, we totally overlook all that we have achieved. It might not be what society deems as ‘appropriate’ so we feel less than what we really are. On top of that, we fall into the social media trap, looking at people who perceive themselves to be more talented, more successful and more worthy; doing bigger and better things. We end up feeling terrible about ourselves. I don’t think anyone is immune to this but I could be wrong Then I remember that the people you wish to be sometimes wish to be someone else. Navigating through all this is a weird experience and I know absolutely nothing about how to do it the best way. The only thing I know for certain from the little experience I’ve gained... Gratitude is the foundation of everything. Even though getting here hasn’t been an easy journey, I am grateful for every battle-won or lost. Thankful for every ‘No’, and door slammed in my face. For every ugly comment made behind my back and any action taken against me in spite. Appreciating the bad so that I may know the good. On that note I am kicking off Gratitude week starting tomorrow. To start celebrating this I have a 7day birthday GIFT-AWAY To say thank you for always liking my pictures, for words of support in my comments section, or retweets/reposts/shares, which means so much to me. Swipe right to see gift-away list and deets. I really hope that gratitude week reminds us all there is always something to be grateful for #gratitudeweek #lallamademedoit
