Found this old picture from my first big movie, Summer Of Sam. WOW What a magical moment when #spikelee called me to tell me I got the role! It was one the most amazing moments of my life. Not only because I had won the role but because all the hard work was paying off!!! The waiting tables on the night shift to make enough money to put myself through acting school during the day, a big agency saying “I don’t get it” it meaning me and being “ethnic” it was NOT an easy road I was on. Thankfully I was able to stay the course, have relentless belief in myself and JUST KEPT MOVING! THAT is what that moment meant to me. My belief in myself was right! Spike will forever always be in my heart for giving me that incredible opportunity but I was ready when it came. Believe me if YOU don’t believe in YOU, NO ONE else will. Whatever it is- you only LOSE if you allow people to get in your head and YOU quit - don’t quit.
