Marina Abramović, Iris van Herpen, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Damien Jalet and Marco Brambilla have joined creative forces on a new production of Debussy’s seminal opera Pelléas at Mélisane, premiering in Antwerp on 2 February. Brambilla, who has created the a filmic backdrop for the production, has manipulated original footage provided by @NASA into a celestial visual celebration that spans eclipse to sunrise. ‘It’s the first time NASA photography has been used in such a way,’ he says.
