I'll never forget receiving my first Grammy nominations in the year of 1960...They were in the pop & jazz categories for my arrangement of "Let the Good Times Roll" for Ray Charles & for my jazz album "The Great Wide World of Quincy Jones." It was truly a special moment because I couldn't help but think back to the time I was just a scrawny little kid running the streets of Chicago, trying to be a gangster. I never would've thought I'd wind up on that stage as a kid (let alone go on to receive 79 nominations & 27 Grammys), so it just goes to show that you really can achieve anything as long as you put in the hard work to back it up. I love seeing people of all ages out there getting nominated because it's not about the age in which it happens, it's about the effort that you put into your creations. I don't care if you're 20 or 100...Good work knows no age...So keep on keepin' on y'awl & congratulations to all of the nominees! #grammyweekend
