Here is an update on Jono the large adult male orangutan caged in the most horrendous conditions for the past 5 years who featured on ABC's Foreign Correspondent in Australia this week .....
Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN) are able to relocate Jono back to Kalimantan Borneo, where he belongs. Jono is officially named Pedro. DNA tests show that he is originally from South Kalimantan, therefore Orangutan Foundation International is where he needs to go.
JAAN have been in discussion with OFI's Dr Birute Mary Galdikas who has agreed to make room for Jono/Pedro at OFI's orphan orangutan Care Centre.
Pedro is being relocated at JAAN's expense.
Palm Oil Investigations will be launching a fundraiser tonight to help with his relocation costs and care.
So many of you have asked how you can help him.
We hope that you may be able to contribute to the fundraiser, no matter how large or small, so that Jono/Pedro can get out of those shocking conditions and go home to Borneo.
