Yesterday we teamed up with our friends at @cleancoastcoective and the girls from @futuredreamers for a community beach clean up at our local Bellongil beach. These clean ups are so important to remove rubbish from our beautiful beaches, but also so we can record and see what types of waste is ending up in our oceans and work to stop it at the source.
We removed 25kg of rubbish in just 45 minutes ~ we all thought it was pretty darn clean but even the clean beaches have a surprising amount of waste!
This weekend there will be lots of people out and about which sadly means more waste will be made, so if you looking for something meaningful to do, grab your loved ones and head to your local beach, park or waterway! By preventing plastics from entering our oceans, we can protect our marine life and keep this planet and our country beautiful, so we can enjoy not only this long weekend but so our future generations to come can as well!
