Whoo hoo! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
I am extraordinarily grateful to the thousands of artists who put their hearts into creating this magical world, the great companies who had our backs every step of the way, and our Visual Effects Supervisor Chris Townsend and his team who held it all together.
You worked for over a year on a single shot (the Groot dance), created the largest visual effects environment ever within Ego’s core, and made so many of us cry with a talking raccoon. I couldn’t have imagined a harder working, more committed and inspired group of men and women. Love to you all this morning. Each of you owns part of this nomination.
