It was during one of the recent trips we did while island hoping in Komodo that I got to hang out with these incredible children. Cheeky, witty and fearless they are just like any other kids, apart from the fact that they live in an isolated island that most of us we call paradise, but for my surprise I was horrified by the amount of plastic they live with ( and swim on it ) on a daily basis in this so called “paradise” . We keep on destroying it day by day when throwing plastic that ends up in water and beaches just like theirs and Indonesia is one of the most affected places by it in the world. So from here I’d like to raise more awareness from our generation to theirs so when they reach our age they’ll also be able to enjoy a beautiful world as we know it today. Durante una de mis visitas a una de la islas de Komodo me encontré con estos niños y tuve la gran suerte de poder pasar un día inolvidable con ellos. Divertidos, juguetones y muy valientes (como casi todos los niños de su edad), viven en un lugar al que la mayoría de nosotros describimos como “un auténtico paraíso”. Pero sin duda lo que más llamó mi atención fue la cantidad de plástico que abunda en sus aguas y playas de ensueño y entre el que conviven diariamente. Desde aquí, me gustaría hacer un llamamiento para que las nuevas generaciones de jóvenes lleguen a conocer en un futuro un mundo tan bonito como todavía lo es a día de hoy.
