I remember when we saw this and she asked us what ‘racism’ means. After explaining it to her, she said “that’s the dumbest and meanest thing I’ve ever heard of.” She hasn’t witnessed blatant racism firsthand (yet) but I’m finding that the underlying ‘quiet’ version is particularly healthy where we live. And we’re trying to figure out how to teach her to spot it so that she can always be an ally. We also don’t pretend to have the answers - we’re open ears and hearts, and we welcome (positive) suggestions and conversation ❤️
