Yesterday was incredibly special to me ?? Being half Thai & spending half my life growing up here in Thailand I’ve always seen elephants as sacred animals to be respected & loved. The tourism industry here hasn’t always agreed. Hundreds of elephants around the world are abused & mistreated for the sake of tourism & it’s time for that to end. Thanks to places like @PhuketElephantSanctuary these gentle giants can finally live happily in peace in their natural habitat. The elephants here have all been rescued from various parts of Thailand where they previously worked insanely hard in either the tourism or logging industries. If you’re going to spend time with elephants while you’re visiting Thailand please please choose places that treat the elephants ethically ????
