The Guggenheim's iconic rotunda is a unique space where a visitor can see how exhibitions are taken down and created. Everything must be built to accommodate the rise of the ramps and angles of the walls; there is no “backstage.” Each of our rotunda exhibitions is assembled and taken apart in view of everyone who enters the building. Illustrator Joana Avillez (@joanaavillez) came by to draw this fascinating process in action—see more at guggenheim.org/blogs.
