Fitting room diaries: when I look in the mirror I see a little post-partum pooch, engorged boobies (ouch) and finding new clothes that fit around these hips so darn challenging. All that to say birthing a child taught me something real. A woman's body is incredible. From witnessing it grow a life inside of me for 9 months to it magically shrinking back down one day at a time. Seriously like whaaat. The most important thing I've learned is to love and appreciate my body no matter what season I'm in. Now that baby is out, it's hard not to daydream about the body I once had when I was in the best shape of my life. I've always been a go-getter, someone who chases after change in the areas of my life where I want to see it. However, pregnancy and being a new mom has taught me a little somethin-somethin about patience. I'm taking my time on this road to getting back in my best shape and most importantly, staying kind to my body during the healing process. It's easy to look in a mirror and feel so far from your goals. Trust me, I'm there right now. We are our own worst critic but try to remember when you get down on yourself that attitude is everything. I hope this post encourages anyone out there who is struggling with self-love or body image issues. We all have those days. I know that social media can sometimes magnify our insecurities. Being in the public eye is never easy but I hope I'm not someone who makes someone else feel like crap about themselves. Not trying to run that kind of page, ya feel me? We are all beautiful in our own way so embrace your flaws and keep pushing towards your goals. A new year brings new opportunities. Be patient. Trust the process. Don't give up. And most importantly, be kind to yourself. ❤ #realtalk #selflove #loveyourself #postpartumbody #selfie
